Pendle Hill Game Pre-Review

Aug 5, 2020

The Pendle Hill game is something that caught my eye from the very first second, I saw the trailer. As a variety streamer horror and mystery is one of my go to games so to speak but there is more to this one.

Growing up in Blackburn Lancashire around 16 miles away from Pendle Hill I have memories of visiting and the many dark tales and mystery that surround this area.

One of the most notorious tales is the trials of the Pendle witches in 1612. Twelve people were accused of witchcraft and eleven were found guilty of this and executed at Lancaster castle.

Pendle Hill continues to be associated with witchcraft and other paranormal activity which makes this a place were numerous people attend on Halloween.

Pendle Hill is a solo open world survival game developed by Edges Design Agency based on a real-life location surrounded by some of the darkest tales of English history. Looking at the trailer the game seems visually brilliant.

The game is played from a first-person perspective and entails you to adapt to different play styles such as stealth, puzzle solving and action.

The story we have been given along with the trailer is you wake up to find yourself in a mysterious forest with zero recollection of who or were you are. You must piece together your story within this haunted forest while fighting for survival and to make your escape.

From everything I have watched and read about this game it is potentially something I am looking forward to trying more than anything.
